The role of a family in the making of a child is most famously and abundantly illustrated by the book titled, “Letters from a father to his daughter” by Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru, which is a collection of letters he wrote to his daughter, a young Indira (Priyadarshini) Gandhi, as he spent years after years in jails, under the British Rule. He described the fascinating story of mankind to her in those letters, not having an opportunity to spend time with her. And it is a wonderful book.
Shaurya and Maya, the brother and sister in these stories stand for all the children who are blessed with a loving and caring family. They are encouraged to be curious, their demands are discussed and met if found reasonable and the parents help them on their path to discovery and limitless joy. Even though the parents are almost equal partners in all the adventures, they step back and let the children enjoy their success. This can only be done by loving parents.
